Nikon, one of the world's leading manufacturers of
sport optics, has introduced the
NIKON ProStaff 550 Laser Rangefinder (8369). The new
ProStaff 550 is a pocket-sized,
waterproof rangefinder that will accurately measure distance
from 11 yards to 550 yards with
Nikon's trademark precision.
The
ProStaff 550 Laser Rangefinder is the perfect size and profile for any
hunt. It is easy to use in the field with a high-contrast LCD display, single button control and a continuous tracking feature that allows for ranging of multiple or moving targets. The
ProStaff 550 is unaffected by extremes in temperatures, so consistent ranging can be accomplished in even the toughest hunting conditions. The unit measures ranges in either yards or meters and features an automatic power shutoff after the reading has been displayed for eight seconds. The
Nikon ProStaff 550 features an easy-to-grip green rubber armored body.
A
ProStaff 550 offers a six power monocular with precisely ground and polished lens glass that is multicoated with anti-reflective compounds to improve light transmission, clarity, and color rendition. The rangefinder provides an exit pupil of 3.5mm for maximum brightness under less-than-ideal lighting conditions. The eyepiece is adjustable, with a range of ± 4 diopters, and has 18mm of eye relief and folds down for use with eyeglasses. In addition, the
Nikon ProStaff 550 has a real angle of view of 6.0 degrees.
The
ProStaff 550 measures 5.1” x 2.7” x 1.5” and weighs 6.3 ounces without battery. It is powered by one CR-2 lithium camera battery that is included with the rangefinder and an internal display shows the user how much battery power is remaining.
